Hammonasset Beach
Madison, CT
Got away from the grind of school with a new friend for one of the last warm days of summer. We got to see a rainbow circling round the sun.

home a new friend
New Haven, CT
One of my classmates regularly hosts bonfires in their yard on Thursday evenings as an opportunity for us to spend quality time together outside of the walls of the school.

Yale university art museum
New Haven, CT
My New Testament interpretation class took a field trip down to the art museum. We used our knowledge of culture in antiquity to interrogate several of the pieces displayed.

Trinity on the Green
New Haven, CT
The oldest church in New Haven! Built in a beautiful gothic architecture style. Visited on their Rite I service day.

My drive to school
New Haven, CT
A sign of the changing seasons. I am looking forward to shorter days and the turning of leaves. For now, another heat wave.

East Rock Park
New Haven, CT
I went on my first hike since arriving in Connecticut. Wandering the wooded park for a few hours reminded how much I have missed being among the trees. I aspire to get out there more often from here on out.
August

Dante park
New York City, NY
The view from a rooftop hotel bar near were Christopher’s cousin works! Definitely a little trippy for my fear of heights but oh so fun to see the city from above.

Rockefeller Square
New York City, NY
The first place we went to upon arriving in the city was Rockefeller Square. Christopher’s cousin made sure to get lots of photos of us. 🙂

Lillie’s victorian establishment
New York City, NY
After lunch at a delicious steamed bun/ramen place, we walked across the streat to this fun bar. With maybe a hundred of these flowers hanging from the ceiling and victorian portraits covering the walls. Mirrors adding to the illusion and knick-knacks on mantles, it was a maximalists dream. Oh, and the drinks were good too!

frank pepe
New Haven, CT
Frank Pepe’s is one of the oldest pizza places in New Haven and said to have some of the best pizza in the country. Christopher and I stopped in and got their Tomato Pie which puts more emphasis on the sauce with less cheese that is mostly parmesan.

Lillie’s victorian Establishment
New York City, NY
My drink of choice at Lillie’s called Leisurely in Love.

Central park
New York City, NY
On our second day in New England, we went to NYC with Christopher’s cousins. They gave us a grand tour of Manhattan. I think I walked 14,000 steps that day!
